About

The mission of the Northeastern University Biomedical Imaging Center (NUBIC) is to advance basic and clinical neuroscience through biomedical imaging.

We offer a state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) facility with cutting-edge acquisition and analysis techniques to support biomedical imaging research projects that use MRI. We provide functional and anatomic MRI capabilities of the human body and we develop and disseminate neuroimaging analysis tools for local investigators and the community at large.

Major areas of research at NUBIC include how exercise and cognitive training enhances brain and behavior, how neuroimaging can improve treatment and early detection/prevention for neuropsychiatric disorders, as well as basic neuroscience about the brain mechanisms underlying fundamental human abilities such as reasoning and executive control, perception, memory, emotion, and social cognition.

NUBIC fosters collaborations between investigators from diverse fields who seek to understand the human brain and improves lives through that understanding.
